Booking choice: The countryside tour from Panglao, from $41 per person. Check dates Tour details
The prices below are the GetYourGuide from-prices in US dollars for the eleven tours on this site. The peso amounts come from the listings themselves, and the Chocolate Hills fee from DENR, as the Philippine Information Agency reported it.
The tour price buys the van, the driver or guide, the pickup and the timing. On most shared tours you add about ₱500 for fees and about ₱1,200 if you take the river lunch, per the listings.
The quick answer
Shared countryside tours from Panglao start at $26 with a driver and run $29 to $44 with a guide or coordinators. Most of them list about ₱500 per person in entrance and environmental fees and the optional Loboc River cruise lunch at about ₱1,200 as paid on the day. Tours with the fees and lunch included start at $64, and day tours from Cebu with the ferry start at $145.
How much is a Bohol countryside tour in 2026?
From $26 per person for a shared day with a driver, $29 to $44 with a guide or coordinators, and from $145 for a full day from Cebu with the ferry.
Three things move the price: who comes with you (a driver, a guide or a whole coordinator team), whether the fees and lunch sit inside the price, and where you start. Panglao is the easy base, about 1.5 hours by road from the Chocolate Hills. From Cebu you add the fast ferry, about 2 hours each way, and the day stretches to about 14 hours.
From Panglao the tours run 6 to 10 hours with a morning pickup or meeting point. Every one of them has free cancellation up to 24 hours before, per the listings.

What do you pay on the day of a countryside tour?
On most shared tours, about ₱500 per person in entrance and environmental fees and, if you want it, about ₱1,200 for the Loboc River cruise buffet lunch, per the listings.
The ₱500 covers the stops on the loop, so you hand over one sum instead of paying at every gate. On the Tarsier Trails day the listing says the fee is collected at pickup. On the Panglao Island Tour days it is paid on site in pesos.
Lunch is your call. The listings offer the Loboc River cruise with a buffet, about ₱1,200 per person, or a restaurant by the river where you pay for what you order. The cruise is the classic: a floating restaurant on the Loboc with a buffet and a short cultural show, as the provincial tourism office describes it.
Guests like knowing it in advance. Youkyoung (Oct 2026) wrote that she “appreciated that extra cost was up front so we could prepare cash.”
| Item | Amount per person | When you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance and environmental fees | About ₱500, per the listings | At pickup or on site, in pesos |
| Loboc River cruise with buffet lunch | About ₱1,200, per the listings | On the day, optional on most shared tours |
| Restaurant by the river instead | What you order | On the day |
| Add-ons such as an ATV ride or a zipline | Set by each operator | On site |
| Tips for the guide or driver | Up to you | At the end of the day |
Bring the pesos, leave the rest to the team: pickup, the van and someone who handles the ticket lines.

DENR has charged a protected-area fee of ₱100 for foreign visitors since December 2022, and around ₱100 to 150 has been reported at the Chocolate Hills Complex. On most tours it sits inside the ₱500 fees or the tour price.
The DENR rates, as the Philippine Information Agency reported them in March 2023: ₱100 for foreign visitors, ₱30 for adult Filipinos and ₱15 for students. Seniors, persons with disability and children under 7 are exempt. The receipt is valid for three days and covers other sites inside the protected area. Three quarters of the money goes to the Protected Area Management Board, the rest to the National Treasury.
In October 2026 the province, Carmen and DENR began reviewing fee collection and viewpoint management at the Chocolate Hills; no change for visitors has been announced. Our post on the October 2026 measures has the details.

Which Bohol tours include the fees and lunch?
Six of them. The paddleboard tour and the private tour include the entrance fees; the Loboc lunch tour, the ATV day and both tours from Cebu include the fees and lunch.
- The countryside tour with paddleboard (from $44): entrance fees to all sites and stand-up paddleboarding on the Loboc. Lunch and drinks are extra.
- The private countryside tour (from $38): the main entrance fees and your own van with a driver-guide. The Loboc River lunch is an option you add.
- The tour with the Loboc River lunch (from $64): fees and the river buffet in one price. The driver doubles as your guide.
- The ATV day (from $110): a 1-hour, 12 km ATV ride, entry to the Chocolate Hills and the tarsiers, and the buffet.
- The countryside tour from Cebu (from $145): the ferry both ways, fees, the cruise lunch and a Department of Tourism licensed guide.
- The private tour from Cebu (from $160): the express ferry to Tubigon, fees and the cruise lunch, with drivers rather than a separate guide.
Paying more up front buys a day with no cash to count. Paying less leaves lunch open. Both work fine; pick the one that suits how you travel.

One price for the loop, the fees and the Loboc River buffet, so the only cash you need is for snacks and souvenirs.

On a shared tour with fees and lunch paid on the day, plan on about ₱1,700 per person, plus small notes for snacks, souvenirs and any add-on.
The sum is simple: ₱500 in fees plus ₱1,200 for the cruise buffet, per the listings. A couple needs about ₱3,400. Add-ons are paid on site at the operator's rate; the private tour from Cebu, for one, lists its optional one-hour ATV ride at the Chocolate Hills at ₱1,400 per person.
Change money in Panglao or Tagbilaran before pickup and carry small bills. Roadside stalls sell pasalubong, the gifts Filipinos bring home: the calamay of Jagna, a sweet of sticky rice, coconut milk and sugar sealed in a coconut shell with a red band (per the provincial tourism office), and peanut kisses. Tips for the guide or driver are up to you.
Pork products are different. They face African swine fever rules that change, so check the current rules before you carry any meat products off the island.

Is a countryside tour from Cebu worth the price?
If Cebu is your base, yes. From $145 you get the ferry both ways, the fees, the cruise lunch and a licensed guide, so the extras are only tips and personal spending.
It is a long day. Pickup starts at 5:00 a.m. for Mactan resorts and 6:00 a.m. for Cebu City hotels, per the listing, and the round trip runs about 14 hours with two ferry crossings of about 2 hours each. In return the operator books the ferry and sends the e-tickets before the day, and you never reach for your wallet at the main stops.
Gladys (Sep 2026) put it in two lines: “Long day but you see a lot of Bohol’s highlights. [...] We really enjoyed the cruise lunch.” The Bohol from Cebu guide compares the day trip with staying a night.

A full day from Cebu with the ferry tickets, the fees and the Loboc lunch already paid.
