Hills, tarsiers and a paddle on the Loboc

A long, full day from Panglao with a tour coordinator: a traditional salt-making stop, the Chocolate Hills, the mahogany forest, the tarsiers, stand-up paddleboarding on the Loboc River and Baclayon Church at the end. Pick it for the paddle and the entrance fees: both are in the price.

Chocolate Hills & Countryside Tour with Paddleboard

About this experience

The day starts at 8:00 AM from Abraham Bohol in Panglao by coaster or van, and the first stop is one most tours skip: Asin Tibuok, the traditional salt of Alburquerque, made by boiling seawater filtered through coconut-husk ash in clay pots. In October 2025 the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines announced its registration as a geographical indication. From there you head to the Chocolate Hills for about two hours of views, drive through the Bilar man-made forest and visit a tarsier sanctuary around noon.

The afternoon belongs to the river. From about 1:00 PM you have free time on the Loboc River with a stand-up paddleboard (kayaks are offered too), and lunch at a restaurant by the water. Around 4:00 PM comes a stop at Baclayon Church, a National Cultural Treasure, and you are back in Panglao at about 5:30 PM, per the listing's estimated times. A tour coordinator stays with the group; standard groups take up to 25, and a private option for up to 20 is available.

Entrance fees to all sites and the paddleboarding are included, which makes this one of the easiest days to budget. You pay for lunch, drinks and a towel. Bring swimwear, a change of clothes, a waterproof bag and a passport (a copy is fine), as the listing suggests. It is not suitable for people with mobility impairments. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, and you can reserve now and pay later.

Tour was really good and really enjoyed my day. they bring you to the tasier sanctuary where you can see they really care about the animals wellbeing and it's not full of tourists. Stand up paddle board was really fun too and chocolate hills are just amazing! I would highly recommend it!

Tips before you book

  • Wear swimwear under your clothes and pack a change, a towel and a waterproof bag for your phone. You will get wet on the board.
  • Bring cash for lunch and drinks at the river. The fees are covered, per the listing.
  • Guests mention an optional ATV ride below the Chocolate Hills, paid on the spot. Ask your coordinator if you want one.
  • Tarsiers are nocturnal, so you will see them asleep or half awake in the leaves. The Philippine Tarsier Foundation asks visitors to keep their voices low, switch off the flash and never touch or feed them.
  • Baclayon Church was restored after the 2013 earthquake. Cover shoulders and knees if you go inside.
